1ST PERIOD - CIVIL ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE
Students should complete their project 1.1.4. They should know where all the materials are and work independently. Please make sure that when they are cutting things they put something underneath! They should only use the materials in the cabinet closest to the door, as well as the cardboard, foam-board, and balsa wood. At 9:05, please have students thoroughly clean up and put all materials and tools back where they found them. Alexis is in 9th grade and may go 3 minutes early.
3RD/4TH PERIOD - INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING DESIGN
Students will watch Modern Marvels: Helicopters (click link to play video). This video is approximately 45 minutes long. Before you start the video, distribute the worksheet provided that is labeled "Modern Marvels: Helicopters". Students will fill out some questions as they watch the video. The conclusion questions should be answered after the video is over. Collect the worksheets for a quiz grade.
About half of the students are coming from the 9th grade side. During 3rd period they may be 1 or 2 minutes late. They should be dismissed 3 minutes early (only the 9th grade students). During 4th period they are coming from lunch, so should not be late. Please mark any students who arrive after 1:00 pm late. The students going back to the 9th grade side should be dismissed around 2:18.

Students should continue to
work on project 1.1.4 (see above instructions). If they need to print out their
narrative they may use the desktop computers on the side of the room. Please
allow Alexis to go 3 minutes early.
3RD/4TH PERIOD -
INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING DESIGN
Play the movie Red
October using the DVD player. The DVD is on top of the DVD player.
Please allow all 9th graders to leave 3rd period at 12:20
and to leave 4th period at 2:18.
